Gooseberry Patch Book Assistant:
Necessary Traits & Skills:
- Experienced cook and baker and/or know your way around a recipe. This is a very critical skill and necessary for this position
- Organized with a keen eye for details and consistency
- Ability to take creative redirection in stride and be on target with revisions
- Must be a team player, juggle multiple projects and keep quality high
- Positive attitude and great interpersonal communications skills
- Solid experience in typing & computer use; familiarity with Open Office and Lotus Notes is a strong plus
- Understand the country “look” & appreciate a country-themed lifestyle
- Writing experience helpful
- Creative with whimsical inclination
- Work 30-40 hours per week at our Delaware, Ohio office
Duties:
- Work with and take direction from Book Editors on the development and production of Gooseberry Patch cookbooks
- Assist and/or select recipes for use in books and other Gooseberry Patch materials keeping the “big” picture of each title in mind
- Maintain consistency within each book and among books in our series
Help proof all cookbooks throughout production
- Help maintain cookbook style sheet
- Contribute to brainstorming (conceptualize), develop ideas and themes for cookbooks
- Identify and document revisions for book reprints
- Handle all correspondence with customers regarding submissions, including permission slips & free books
- Field customer inquiries regarding recipes in published cookbooks and other Gooseberry Patch materials
- Maintain internal recipe database
- Assist in other creative department projects as needed
