Great Kitchen/Gift Buyer:
Job Description:
* Extend assortment, shop the marketplace and negotiate prices, freight and terms.
*Translate prior sales and merchandising reports into merchandise opportunities, and investigate & develop new
products and category extensions.
* Develop multiple sources as it relates to all packaging products.
* Coordinate new designs with the assistance of creative departments.
* Work with manufacturers to ensure production schedule and quality standards are being met.
* Select vendors and conduct negotiations. Extensive contact with manufacturers and distributors.
* Interact with all departments of the company including customer service, copywriters, personal shoppers and
assembly staff.
* Will work with the creative teams in all aspects of catalog production from sourcing merchandise, building vendor
relationships, paginating the catalog pages (assigning product to pages based on prior sales history and square
inch analysis) and categorizing product for website to proof-reading copy for both print and on-line media.
Required Skills:
* Have a passion and energy for the business
* Detail-oriented, a self-starter, assertive, customer service friendly and capable of working independently
* Knowledge of concepts: margin, inventory turns, key items, vendor terms and negotiations
* Must be passionate about the merchandise
* Computer skills (Word, Excel) including internet and website navigation
* Strong analytical skills
* Strong communication skills both verbal and written
* Ability to travel
* College degree or equivalent retail management experience
Seasonal Staff:
We have lots of seasonal positions available from late June through mid-January! We offer day, evening and weekend hours...we look for staff in the following areas:
- Catalog Phone Sales & Customer Satisfaction Reps
- Various shifts are available between 8am-midnight weekdays & 9am-9pm weekends.
- Strong computer skills required, sales experience a plus.
- Must have excellent phone etiquette, spelling & grammer.
- Order Pickers, Packers & Shipping Scanners
- Shifts available between 7am-10pm weekdays.
- Occasional Saturdays.
- Lifting required (up to 50 lbs.)
All positions are seasonal with a commitment to work through mid-January and require the ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
